EFASP has two faculty members: Prof. Jeffrey S. Cross and Assoc. Prof. Masashi Shirabe. They are involved in international affairs, PR, committee work, engineering educational policy development & implementation, engineering strategy forumulation, teaching and research. A brief description of their research areas are below. See the research page for further explaination.
Jeffrey Cross is an adjunct professor in two departments: Mechanical Sciences & Engineering as well as Metallurgy and Ceramics Science, where he advises students researching 1) biosensor fabrication involving human protein adsoption on inorganic surfaces and graphene, 2) liquification of biomass (rice
straw, tobacco) using ionics liquids to produce chemicals
and 3) regional energy models and cultural aspects of energy utilization after natural disasters.
Masashi Shirabe specializes in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies and Scientometrics, especially, citation analysis of patents and academic papers. Currently, he is focusing on application of scientometrics to research evaluation and “evidence-based science and technology policies”. |
